Stealing Your Life

If you really want to protect yourself, then Stealing Your Life - The Ultimate Identity Theft Protection Plan by Frank W. Abagnale is an excellent place to find information.

Abagnale is the author of and life story shown in the movie 'Catch Me if You Can'. If you have seen the film, then you will be well aware that he has a quite exceptional base of experience in check fraud and the different types of scam and con involved.

The book is obviously well researched and it is clear that Abagnale is now a central part of the identity theft prevention industry.

However, there is one caveat. Whilst his advice is likely to be useful for anyone worried about protection from this insidious crime, the specifics are very much aimed at Americans. If you are not a US resident, many of the finer points discussed will be of little use to you.

Not only is the book crammed with useful hints, it is also full of anecdotes about crimes and the ingenious methods of criminals. That said, we presume that since we have found out about these crimes, the perpetrators must have been caught!

Our advice is simple. If you want to protect yourself from identity theft, no matter where you may live, it is almost certainly worth buying 'Stealing Your Life' by Frank W. Abagnale.
