Insiders Secrets To Identity Theft And Fraud : What They Don't Want You To Know by T.Carter

The 'Insider's Guide To Identity Theft And Fraud: What they don't want you to know' by T.Carter is actually not what you might expect. From the title, you might think that this is a book which details how the crime works from the viewpoint of perhaps a police officer or credit card fraud investigator.

Instead, the book is actually a first person narrative - 'This is what I did' book which explains how T.Carter (a female) conned her way to new cars, rented appartments, money and eventually prison.

As she describes, most of her early cons were simply ID fraud, changing some of her details to obtain new credit and using that to pay bills and living expenses.

In fact, much of what she describes is actually very basic in concept and ultimately not clever enough to help her get away with the crimes. If you plan to be a fraudster, buy this book and find out what NOT to do!!

Far from being an 'insider' she was actually a struggling mother with two young children who was simply trying to put food on the table and support a young family.

The book is self published through Lulu.com and I am sorry to say that it required massive editing. Worse, the writing style was not exactly the Queen's English and though this may be how T.Carter speaks and therefore represents conversations accurately, this is not how to write a book in general. This is a shame because had the book been more lucid, there is a story to be told of poverty, desperation and crime.

In short, if you want a book that teaches you how to either protect yourself against identity theft or demonstrates how it might be committed, there are better to be found. We can only hope that by purchasing, we have helped the author enough that she no longer needs to commit further offences against either language or law.
