by the BBC about an assassination in Dubai has made headlines around the world. The Dubai government suspects that a group of 11 people were involved in killing a commander of Hamas in a hotel room in the state. The announcement from Dubai lists names and nationalities. . The news reports all suggest that deeply political motives may have been behind the plot and murder. That, of course, is not something this site is involved in. However, it this case does show just how vital our identities are and how easy it is for problems to arise. Stopping a sovereign state (if that is who was behind this) from creating a 'perfect' forgery would actually be impossible for us mere mortals. If a government planned to use our ID, it must be presumed that they would have the resources to make any fake (or possibly genuine) documents that may be needed a reality.
