A Shocking Card Cloning Court Case

July 2008 - Shocking evidence has been released after a card cloning court case and prosecution in the UK as to just why it is so vital that we all do everything we can to protect our personal details, cards and PIN numbers.

The case involved a Romanian who had established what seemed like a factory with a close friend to steal from banks across the UK. It appears that having established cloned cards, they would drive up and down the country looking for unrelated cash machines. Often, they used machines in supermarkets.

They had started by creating false fronts for cash machines and copying the details of cards being used. In a short space of time, such a machine can grab the details of dozens of customers. The front is then removed during a lull in traffic and the world is none-the-wiser.

Our Romanian was actually caught speeding by police and provided them with a false driving licence...

By clicking on the following below, you will be taken to the BBC Website and the page detailing the case. Take a look at the photo of the man's child. This picture was taken and sent back to family in Romania to, apparently, prove what is possible in England.

It is quite chilling to think that having only recently opened the borders to the people of Romania and Bulgaria, there are such callous operators already in residence.

Needless to say, the man's accomplice has yet to be found.
