EU Identity Theft News Items

This section of the site is devoted to keeping up with EU identity theft news items, of which there is increasingly often something of note.

As ID fraud and related subjects becomes bigger and bigger in terms of the scale of the crimes and the news items generated, it seems reasonable for us to try and maintain a summary in one place on this site.

Our intention is to be able to help keep the public updated about progress in this area but also to ensure that the changing methods of criminals are noted so that we members of the public are aware of potential hazards.

Your author has written a monthly freelance column for European Voice, the premier English language EU affairs newspaper, which is owned by The Economist Group. Therefore, it is likely that much of the information in this section will have been found or covered by the European Voice . However, the circulation of EV is not particularly widespread outside of Brussels or the EU affairs and lobbying industry.

Where possible, we will post links to the relevant news item online on the relevant page.

We hope that you find it useful.
